Knots on A Counting Rope:


After Reading Activities.


Metaphor: a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is used to make a comparison between two
things that aren’t alike but do have something in common.


  1. List the characters in the story and give a brief description of each character.
  • Boy - boy is the kid that wanted to know about the story
  • Grandfather - he is the person that told the story to the boy
  • Aunty - she is the lady that held boy with love


2. List what you think the themes are in the story and give an example. A theme is a message
attached to the story

4. Discuss why the Boy’s Grandfather was special to him.
  • he was special because he was guiding him because the boy was getting blind and he was
  • wise protective, polite, kind, loving, encouraging.


5. Tell us about someone who is special to you. Tell me why? - my parents. I choose my parents
because they are loving, caring and helpful. They also spoiled me pass the limit because they worked
hard for me and my siblings. And I thank my mum for creating.






The story was about a kid wanting to know the story of him and his family. He also was getting blind.
And part of the story was when he was born and his grandfather was on blue

horse rushing to him saying” the boy won’t die”. While rushing the wind was saying boys name”
BOYEEEEEEEEEE!! BOYEEEEEEEEEE!”.
