What would I tell my Grandson about covid 19

 Grandson: Grandpa, I’m sick of going to school every single day!! I want to just learn from home because I can just relax in bed.

Grandpa aka Dereon: Haha learning from home isn't the best option. I know this because I had experienced it before!

Grandson: Why and how Grandpa?

Grandpa aka Dereon: There was a Virus which was called coronavirus! It was a really bad, contagious virus. Covid 19 was so bad that it caused lockdowns and social distancing. This virus began on the 31st of December in Wuhan, China, and that's where it all started.

Grandson: Wow!! That sounds fun!!

Grandpa aka Dereon: No it wasn’t fun. Schools were closed, stores were limited, the borders were not open and everyone was isolated. We all had to stay within our bubble

Grandson: Never mind, that must’ve been boring and unpleasant.

Grandpa aka Dereon: oh trust me, it wasn't fun! We’d rather go to school.

Grandson: Yeah never mind, I would just stay learning at school.

An Admirable Person is someone who inspires individuals to do the same thing, or it could be people's idols/role models (special people that other individuals look up to).

My personal admirable person is my mother, why? Because I'm an individual who looks up to to her!!

She does multiple things to keep me and not just me, but my family contented!!

My mum is always a reliable, caring person because she takes her time taking me to

school consistently for a better future!!

She is number one in the universe to me because she gave birth to me, the most mature

boy named Dereon :).

Over 3 billion years ago, we had water. We had a Water Cycle that still goes on till this day and on. The water evaporates from the ground, it turns into clouds and rain falls. The water cycle describes the movement of water throughout the Earth’s surface.

Water in the Water Cycle can exist as a solid, liquid, or gas. The hydrologic cycle is important because it is how water reaches plants, animals and us!

Lost Cat

 Lost Cat!!

On a Thursday afternoon I was worried about my cat Rhino because today was our walk day!! He went MISSING!!! I had looked everywhere but couldnt see my cat. Rhino is brownish whitish. He's fluffy and cute!! Rhino is my favourite pet ever, He makes me laugh sometimes when he's relaxed.

When entering my kitchen I cried and sat down, I had thought he had died. I sat down to take a drink of soda but, suddenly I saw something move in my loaf of bread I bought earlier this morning!! I stood up so quickly and saw his face. I grabbed him, hugged him, and put him down in his proper bed to sleep!!

New Zealand defeats Pandemic

In New Zealand a clan of 5 million people have defeated coronavirus. New
Zealand's Prime minister Jacinda Ardern, has announced that no cases of
covid- 19. As there were no cases, that then meant that they will be moving
down to alert level 1 at midnight monday. Jacinda Ardern has said “New Zealand
is ready!!). 

It has been a long 40 day journey since the last case was recorded of community
service and 26 days since we last entered into alert level 2.

Extending to alert level 1 means that during events, there can be more than the
original amount but, we still have to wash our hands for sensitive bacteria.

My Bubble

My Bubble

During the lockdown, I have spent so much time with family. What we do together
to keep all ourselves entertained is the internet. We play Fortnite, Roblox, and
kahoot. We then also board games and cards like last card, talamu, memorie and
poker. 

In my bubble I've also been alone sometimes for personal space. I have been
chilling in my room watching videos and craving Mcdonalds and KFC. 

My bubble is also boring because sometimes there is nothing to do, it’s either do
something or sleep. I kinda enjoy being around my family 24/7 and 7/24 because
they are everything.

  • The last population of seals were 200,000 in 2001
  • They are found in rocky shores of New Zealand mainland chatham islands.

  • Adult males: maximum length 2.5 m, weight 90-150 kg.
  • They eat on squid and small mid fish.

Cushion

Last Term Room 5 made some cushions with Mrs. Coakley. We outline our peace
of fabric, then we painted it and designed our cushion. Then we let our fabric dry
overnight. We had to wait for some other students to finish so it took quite a
while.

Till now Term 4 in the new school Mrs Coakley sewed our fabric with a cushion
and left a little hole for us to put the fluffy stuff inside. We then added the fluffy
and Mrs. Coakley sewed up the little hole.

First Day in the new BUILDING!!!

On Tuesday morning I woke up excited but regretful (sad). My sister and I left to
school and sat down in room 1. Everybody was blaring (Loud). We sat there
waiting for Mr. Coakley to present the BRAND NEW SCHOOL. 

I was thrilled (excited). The orders to enter the new school was youngest to
oldest. We first started in the Discovery room Takitiritia (we have both Maori and
English names for our spaces). We then prayed. After the prayer Mr. Coakely had
a speech on what to do. 

During the speech I looked around at all the decorations. It was attractive
(Beautiful). After all of that our class room the curiosity fanou the Te wairua pakiki.
IT WAS ALLURING (beautiful). My experience was a beauty!

Holiday Recount

On Saturday My nana, uncles, sister, cousin and I went to the park ‘cause
being home was BORRRRING. We got changed and raced ourselves to the
car. 

First, my family and I went to put in petrol (IT NEARLY DIED). Then we drove
to Dunkirk and wasted a lot of my energy there! I went on EVERYTHING, but
the one thing I most enjoyed was sitting on a spinner.

My uncle pushed and pushed to his speed limit. I hopped off dazed. He
grinned at me well I dropped to the ground. That was fun!

After our visit at the park our group formed a line to make our way to our car.
We then drove off to a basketball court name: tamaki glen innes court. I
WAS EXCITED. 

My uncles and I played a little game called: Master. We kept swishing and
hitting the backboard. It was even more fun ‘cause there was a Net, and the
best thing about nets are when you release the ball from your hands you will
know if you made it in! 

After a game of Master we dribbled around and mucked around. I got really
tired. My Nana said” come on let's go now”. Our group ran to the car to get
some Hot chips. And frozen cokes from McDonald's.

I was REALLY REALLY THIRSTY. I took one sip of a frozen and it made my
day even pleasurable. We then bought hot chips and went back home to rest.

Museum Holiday

One Amazing Morning. It was SATURDAY Morning. I got up
from the sitting room and got ready to go to the MUSEUM. I got
changed but I didn’t know if I should wear it on not?. It took
Pretty long. I didn’t know what to choose. Until I saw my clothes
I usually wear. 

I got changed and headed outside. It was just me and my aunty
going. She gave me 2 dollars for my Bus fair. I took it and held
on. My dad and my sister dropped us off near the GI train
station. We waited for a couple of minutes then jumped onto our
Bus. we hopped off near the hospital and took quite a long walk.
It wasn’t tiring but it was annoying because I was walking in mud
in my new Shoes. When we walked up to the stairs to the Museum I was soo happy to be there again.

We paid our tickets and walked in through the Maori section.
There were heaps of stuff like when you wash your hands
there's this wide thing with water inside it and it said” this object
is what the Maori people use to wash their hands. They also had
this house where these people use to lay in and it showed this
house where you have to take off your shoes and inside is full of
patterns. They also had the waka when they came to
New Zealand. We finished that ile and went to the cultural
objects.

They had sharp speers, baskets, helmets, necklaces and the
tattoo making object. It was COOL!. We then walked up to the
stairs and found our way to the volcano area. There were
different types of rocks like big hard rocks and small rocks.
There was a room with a projector and a tv. It was showing us
what to do in a volcano irrupt. The room was SHAKING. It was
Soo Soo LOUD!. It finally finished. Everybody walked out.

Next, we went to the dinosaurs and insects ile.here were kiwi
birds, ostrougous, sharks and birds. It showed us their main
habitats and stuff. IT WAS COOL!. 

Next area was the WW1. world war 1 had some phones
with a name that you call pick and listen to a person. They were
talking about some soldiers or their captain. I didn’t really
understand but that's ok. We then looked at this plane people
used to fly with bombs at the bottom. There were the pilot gears
and boxes. 

Next, we went to the WW2 section. I didn’t understand anything
but the things were COOL!. I don’t really know what to say but
YEAH. we then got to the Very Very Very top. I and my aunty
were hungry and tired so we went for a looooooong walk down
to anywhere just where there's food.

We walked and walked till we saw McDonald's right there. So I
said,” let's just go there I’m too tired”. We stopped by and got
two burgers each. There was a massive fight there between a

lady and a worker. The lady was swearing so much the man
called the police. Everybody stood and up and was like
`` OOOH” OOOOOOOHH”. I just sat there and ate.

After that, we went to play some pool table. I was the MASTER.
I beat my aunty 2 times before we left. It was fun. It all ended
by going to the train station and coming back to Glen Innes.

We hopped out a GI and got picked up to go home.

Sailing

Sailing (FUN)

On Tuesday I woke up at 7:03 in the morning. I stepped out of the room
tired, and lazy. I got ready and rushed to the kitchen. My nana was the only
one awake. I got ready and left. I arrived and only me and 5 other students
were there. It was boring. I walked around the school. That’s when people
came. Finally, my whole class arrived. We got into groups and went with
parents. I went with Mr. Tai, Mrs. Nees, Francis, Aurora, and Nasili. We arrived at Okahu Bay. We had morning tea and changed into our

swimming suits. We got partnered up. I went with Zenith.We push our sail to
sea and sailed off. We sailed for ages, until lunch. We sailed all the way
back to shore. We hopped out to pull out sail back up.

After lunch, we went to the wharf and waited We hopped in and waited for
Justin to take off. As soon as he took off we watched Steven and Justin
encourage the kids to flip the boats over. It was COOL. We watch them as
they tipped the boat over and watched them trying to swim. They struggled
to swim and struggled mostly on flipping the boat back over.

We helped them and lifted them on the boat with us and tied their sailing
boat to the speed boat. We went back and got changed. We all met up near
the container. We all gathered up and everyone got a certificate and a
sticker. We said” THANK YOU JUSTIN, STEVEN, AND VERONICA FOR
TODAY. After saying thank you we grouped up and hoped in the car and
went back to school.
